From your head to your toes we are all a little hairy. Natural blondes are lucky, their body hair blends in with their skin. But for us dark brunettes it isn't as simple all of the time. You know, we've all seen it on someone, the dark hair on the stomach, lower back, arms, etc. So how do you effectively deal with that pesky hair?
Here are four options in order from worst to best:
1. Shaving
Shaving is the worst choice. The hair grows back darker and thicker, so while it may take care of your problem for a day or so, you will regret this decision when the thick hair starts coming up. I advise only shaving your legs, and armpits, the bikini area is okay to shave, but some of the following options will leave you smoother for longer.
Procedure: do it yourself
Pain level: 2
Price:$1+
Suggested Product:Venus Breeze - ($8.44 at Target) This razor has built-in shave gel bars, and the shave gel bars flex for incredible closeness around every curve.

2. Waxing
Waxing is a great option for your bikini area and eyebrows, it's my second best suggestion for the upper lip. The downside with waxing is that the hair does grow back, luckily it grows back finer and lighter. About.com has a great overview of the bikini waxing process.
Procedure: professional (suggested for bikini and eyebrows) or do it yourself (suggested for upper lip)
Pain level: 6
Price:$5+
Suggested Product: Sally Hansen Wax Strip Kit

3. Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is a permanent treatment to remove hair, and for that reason it is a great solution for unwanted hair. It takes at least three treatments for most people. There is a small chance of permanent scaring though, so it is important to find an experienced doctor. Laser hair removal should only be used on area's that you are sure you would never want to have hair, such as legs and armpits. It is not suggested to get laser hair removal on the entire bikini area because styles change, and one day you may want more hair down there.
Kim Kardashian recently admitted in an interview with E!'s Ryan Seacrest that she is a fan of laser hair removal, and she has used it on her arms, bikini area, underarms and legs.

Procedure: professional (suggested) or do it yourself (dangerous)
Pain level: 7
Price: $100+ for each treatment on one area.

4. Bleach
Bleach is the best choice for unwanted hair. Simply spread the creme over the desired area and wait until the allotted time is up. After rinsing off the creme your skin might seem slightly lighter in the bleached areas, but after approximately 10 minutes your skin tone should blend back in. For more coarse hairs you may have to repeat the procedure, but it should all bleach after the second or third application. If there are only a couple of stubborn hairs it might be easier to simply pluck them with tweezers. I love this option because the bleach blends your hair with your skin, so it seems like nothings there. It's easy to do, inexpensive, and lasts until your hair grows out.
Procedure: do it yourself
Pain level: 1
Price: $3.99+
